PEER-REVIEW POLICY

The International Journal of Research and Innovation Studies (IJRIS) is committed to a fair, rigorous, and constructive peer-review process. Peer review helps the journal assess the quality, originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution of submitted manuscripts, while giving authors feedback to strengthen their work. Each submission is first screened by the editorial team to determine whether it fits the journal’s scope and meets basic requirements for quality, originality, ethical conduct, and presentation. Manuscripts that pass this initial assessment are sent to qualified reviewers with relevant subject expertise. The journal aims to use an impartial review process and to protect the confidentiality of manuscripts and reviewer reports.

Reviewers evaluate submissions according to criteria such as originality, significance, soundness of methods, accuracy of analysis, clarity of presentation, appropriate use of sources, and relevance to the journal’s readership. They may recommend acceptance, revision, or rejection. The final decision rests with the editor, who considers the reviewers’ assessments alongside the journal’s standards and editorial judgment. A reviewer’s recommendation is advisory and does not guarantee a particular outcome.

Reviewers are expected to provide objective, evidence-based, and respectful comments. They should identify relevant work that has not been cited, explain concerns clearly, and disclose any potential conflicts of interest. Reviewers must not use unpublished material from a manuscript for personal advantage or share it with others. If a reviewer believes they lack the expertise or cannot complete the review in a timely manner, they should inform the editor promptly. Authors are expected to respond to reviewer feedback professionally and address each point in a revised submission. When authors disagree with a comment, they should explain their reasoning clearly and respectfully. Revised manuscripts should be accompanied by a detailed response letter indicating how each concern was addressed.

The review period may vary depending on reviewer availability and the nature of the manuscript. The journal seeks to communicate decisions and feedback as promptly as practicable. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit and relevance, without discrimination on the basis of personal characteristics or institutional affiliation.

By submitting to IJRIS, authors agree to participate in the review process and to revise their work when requested. The journal may reject a manuscript at any stage if serious concerns arise regarding quality, ethics, originality, or compliance with its policies.
